Mod 3: Using ERDAS IMAGINE and Digitizing
This week introduce us to ERDAS IMAGINE software and how to use it. Oh boy was this week a learning curve, I thought I had some problem navigating ARCGIS, but I didn't know how well I was so used to that software until I was thrown another program. After a while though some of the functions became more useful and easier to navigate within ERDAS and I actually prefer them over some ARCGIS functions. However when it comes to map-making and saving progress I definitely prefer ARCGIS over ERDAS. Below is the map I made for this week's lab. It depicts an a LANDSAT Thematic Mapper image of forested land in Olympic National Park located in Washington State. The inquire tool was used to create the submap below and the attribute table was able to calculate hectares for each classification found in the legend.
